Part of the Home Made Chefs Team

I’m very happy to share with you guys that I am now one of the Home Made Chefs! For those of you who aren’t familiar with it yet, Home Made Chefs is a Dutch cooking platform especially created for people who love cooking at home. So no fancy chefs or super intricate recipes, but just good homemade food!

Together with the other chefs at the platform, I’ll be developing easy, but delicious recipes for people to cook & enjoy at home.

Cooking with Dutch Supermarket ingredients

Since I cater my blog to an international audience, I always try to keep in mind that the ingredients are widely available in the United Kingdom and the United States as well. Because of that, some of my ideas might unfortunately not always work for my blog.

For Home Made Chefs, however, I only need to make sure that the ingredients are available in Dutch supermarkets. Being Dutch myself, this naturally gives me some more options to include certain ingredients in my recipes which in turn grants me more creative freedom!

My First Home Made Chefs Event

In November 2021 I got the meet the team & my fellow Home Made Chefs for the first time at Beachclub 8 in Rockanje. Here we enjoyed a full day of good food, workshops & photo shoots!

For one of those photo shoots, we had to create – and bring – our own recipe to get it photographed by a professional food photographer. For my first Home Made Chefs recipe I created a lunch dish inspired by the trending blueberry and egg-salad sandwiches in Korea.
I love experimenting with ingredients that you wouldn’t naturally pair together, so I had to give this a try. And that’s how this recipe for Ciabattina with Scrambled Eggs, Blueberry Jam & Crispy Bacon came to be.
