Verse Koreaanse Aardbeienmelk Recept

Wat werkt er op een hete zomerdag nou beter om mee af te koelen dan een koud drankje? Deze verfrissende Koreaanse aardbeienmelk is zoet, romig en zit vol verse aardbeien.
In Korea kun je dit drankje in genoeg cafés vinden, maar als je – net zoals ik – aan de andere kant van de wereld bent, is het gelukkig ook makkelijk om thuis te maken. Met maar een paar ingrediënten heb je binnen 10 minuten je eigen verse Koreaanse Aardbeienmelk om van te kunnen genieten!

Benodigdheden

  • blender optioneel
  • Mason jar of glas600 ml

Ingrediënten
  

  • 125 g fresh strawberries (divided into 2 portions of 75g and 50g)
  • 3 el gecondenseerde melk can be slightly adjusted according to personal taste
  • 400 ml volle melk
Condensed milk seems to be less frequently used in Western cuisine, compared to Asian cuisine, so if you've never had it before I urge you to give it a try! In Asia, this sweet ingredient is commonly used in either hot or iced coffee and tea, or with desserts.
Since condensed milk is already liquid by itself, it dissolves much easier than sugar for instance, and it's also a great way to get a more concentrated milk flavor, without the added excess liquid that milk has. This can also make it great to use when baking.

How to Prepare Homemade Korean Strawberry Milk

  • Remove the stems from your strawberries and rinse them under cold, running water.
  • Pat the strawberries dry with a (paper) towel and divide them into two portions, one portion of around 75g, and one of around 50g.
  • Puree the larger portion of strawberries in a blender, or first cut them in half and mash them with a fork in a bowl. Then add the condensed milk to the strawberry puree and mix it together until smooth.
  • Cut the smaller portion of strawberries into small pieces. Ideally, they should be small enough to fit through a (wide) straw.
  • Now we're ready to start layering the Korean strawberry milk. Start by scooping the strawberry puree onto the bottom of the glass. Then place a spoon in the glass - just above the puree - and slowly pour the cold milk onto the spoon so as to not push the strawberry puree layer to the sides too much. After you've poured the milk, add the diced pieces of strawberry to the glass.
  • If you want you can either serve it with a straw or a long spoon to be able to stir all the layers together just before drinking it. Either way, your Korean strawberry milk is best enjoyed cold, so serve as soon as possible & enjoy!
