How to make Japanese Inspired Loaded Fries with Wasabi Mayonnaise
Fry your fresh french fries in the air fryer according to the package (this will probably take around 12 minutes). Take out your fries at around 6 minutes to toss them around in a bowl and coat them in the dried seaweed flakes, sesame seeds & a bit of salt. Then continue to fry them until they are golden & crispy.
In the meantime, marinate your shrimp for a couple of minutes in the soy sauce.
Prepare 3 plates for coating the shrimp, 1 with a beaten egg in the middle, 1 with sifted flour & 1 with the panko.
Batter your shrimp one by one with the egg, then the flour, then once more with the egg mixture, and lastly with the panko.
Heat a frying pan with a generous amount of sunflower oil until it is hot and fry the panko battered shrimps until golden.
Place the fried shrimp on a wire rack or a sheet of kitchen paper to get rid of the excess oil & keep them crispy.
Combine your mayonnaise, wasabi paste & sesame oil in a small bowl and mix well. Serve with the fries later on.
Combine all the ingredients on a plate. Start with the fries on the bottom, add a little more seaweed flakes or sesame seeds if needed. Then put the fried shrimp on top.
Cut your spring onions & sprinkle them on top along with a drizzle of mayonnaise.
